Milan doesn’t play when it comes to fashion – and the street style circuit isn’t any different. The just-right weather also made the streets of Milan Fashion Week the perfect setting as a fall outfit haven. It wasn’t too cold to the point of chunky heavy layering, and it wasn’t humid enough to sweat underneath the sun either. Perfect as always, Milan. Filled with some of the best and most eclectic mix in street style, we do a quick dive into some of our favourites that we’ve spotted.
The streets of Milan Fashion Week is always so full of texture, colours, and life. Last season, we saw a slew of fully monochromatic neon outfits and pops of highlighter colours. This season we saw Milan move away from making a statement with colours and they traded it out for textures and prints instead. We’re seeing a beautiful harmony of clashing prints and fully printed suits. The prints included bold florals, crazy geometrics, and also the darling gingham. However, the crayola trend did crawl its way into fall and we saw a good amount of highlighter packs in the crowd. Just like us, we cant get enough of colour. And oddly enough, lavender.
And the oversized silhouettes, we have to talk about the silhouettes! Big and beautiful, we saw the return (did they ever leave?) of oversized coats and pants. Paired together and cinched at the waist spells out gorgeous. We spotted big silhouettes in forms of shoulder pads on blazers as well, which gave us a heavy kick of nostalgia. You really can’t go wrong with this trend, and the street style regulars of Milan Fashion Week really took it up a level.
Milan Fashion Week really is something else. The street style is a melting pot of beautiful trends and we simply cannot just fall in love with only one. Colours, prints, textures, and oversized silhouettes aside, we noticed that the neutrals were slowly making their way in for fall. We’re talking about the creams, browns, and greys. Whether it’s the beautiful denim and camel brown combo, or an all white floor length coat paired to perfection with grey separates, we’re seeing a real comeback for the neutrals. And not forgetting, the classic trench coat. If you’re not big on colour, this must be great news.
Up next is Paris Fashion Week and we cannot wait to see what the street style scene offers. If you’re ever in need of some fall outfit inspiration, the gallery above could serve as a pretty nifty guide. There just isn’t enough love to go out to the land of pasta, or also known as the fashion capital of Italy, and our absolute favourite place. Milan, you’re giving us some serious heart eyes.
