Follow Me To Italy: A Tale of Two Cities
Rome, Florence and little Positano in Campania makes three. My phone's camera roll is looking so good right now, and I have Italy to thank for it.|
I visit Italy twice every year during fashion month, but last week was the first time that I’ve ever stepped out of Milan. Can you believe it? It is times like these where I am so thankful that my work takes me to beautiful places in far-flung corners of the world. In the span of a week or so, I made three stops in the land of pasta, gelato and burrata: Rome, Florence and a little bit of Campania.
The beauty of Rome and Florence speaks for itself. It’s not just the cathedrals (although the Piazza del Duomo in Florence was really quite beautiful). Everything from the fountains to the libraries look so majestic, but you really didn’t have to go far to find a photogenic spot. The streets alone are pretty enough. I even got a chance to walk through the amazing Palazzo Pitti and Uffizi Gallery in Florence just before Gucci’s epic Cruise 2018 show. Positano on Amalfi Coast in Campania has been on my travel bucket list for years and I’m so glad that I managed to squeeze some time out for it. Such a dream come true to be standing on one of the balconies overlooking the coast and the colourful houses.
With that, my crazy month of back-to-back travelling comes to an end, and what a privilege to be able to go out with Italy’s unmatched beauty as the closing act. Till next time Italia, but for now, yours truly needs to go home.
